January 2026 start Warm and friendly nature Pro-active *Main Responsibilities* * To work with the room leader to lead and guide the staff in your room base (0-2’s). * To uphold the ethos of the setting and to create a welcoming and family friendly environment. * To be a member of the senior team and to contribute to the strategic planning, monitoring, evaluation and development of the Nursery. This includes spot checking, peer observation. * To be responsible at all times for high standards of care and education of children between 0 to five years in accordance with statutory requirements. This includes Ofsted, Environmental Health, EYFS Frameworks. * To ensure the EYFS is promoted and delivered within the setting and the principles adhered to. This includes overseeing staff journal entries & monitoring quota numbers * To ensure effective communication between the Day Care staff and with all partner organisations. Resolving any communicative issues. * To liaise with the Manager and senior staff on the ordering and maintenance of equipment and resources in the Nursery according to budget. * To keep a register and up to date records of all children using the provision and to give regular feedback to parents about their child’s development and progress. Overseeing your team’s role in this also. * To ensure that high standards of childcare are consistently maintained and address any poor practice & failings to comply. * To maintain a safe and hygienic environment at all times and to ensure compliance with Health and Safety Regulations & Environmental Health. * To ensure written plans of activities are established by Nursery Team in respect of different age groups of children & that the child led interests and individual needs are met through this planning. * To be responsible for the upkeep of adequate records and documentation e.g. children's records, register etc * To be welcoming and friendly towards visitors and show rounds * To assist in the training of new staff members being inducted & to oversee Induction points completed within a timely manner.
