Bayleaf Care: Amazing Things are Happening Here

Senior Residential Support Worker

We are looking for a senior residential support worker in Egginton (Burton on Trent) for a 3 bed children's home that looks after young people with Autism & L/D. The salary is £17.31 to £18.23p per hour with the option of overtime in the other homes.

The home is situated 16 miles from Lichfield, 3.5 miles from Burton on Trent, 11 miles from Derby, 17 miles from Uttoxeter and 12 miles from Ashby-de-la-Zouch and Castle Donnington.

About the home:

Doveside is a beautiful home for three young people with learning disabilities. It is situated in rural Derbyshire and offers a stunning and tranquil setting, with lots of outdoor space to explore. The home has generous communal living spaces, and young people will each have their own bedroom – all with wonderful views of the surroundings and there is also a sensory room at the home.

Doveside is already home to many – with outdoor cats, peacocks, chickens, doves, ducks and geese. Indoors you will find our resident African Grey parrot – Coco. Young people will be offered the opportunity to enjoy spending time with our animals, collecting eggs, watching the peacocks show off their tails, and even having a chat with Coco.

For young people struggling in traditional education, the on-site learning hub offers opportunities to receive a more bespoke educational package. Staff and facilities here provide opportunities for young people to succeed academically and build on their independence skills.

Hidden behind Doveside is the beautiful bank of the Trent and Mersey canal. Young people can enjoy nature, and activities including fishing and birdwatching, or even take a trip along the canal in one of our boats

About Bayleaf Care

Bayleaf Care provides exceptional care for children and young people across the UK, especially those who have faced trauma. We use the PACE model, which creates a safe, caring environment to help children feel secure and build positive relationships.

Our approach starts with the key worker, who forms a strong, trusting bond with the child. This relationship is essential for the child's development and continues throughout their care.

We offer personalized care, education, and treatment led by a team of trained professionals, helping children manage their emotions and behaviours in a safe, supportive environment.

There are currently 2 children's homes open, with another 2 homes due to open by late spring and a further 2 homes opening by Autumn.

Each children's home has their own permanent on-site therapist and a pool car.

Job overview:

The role of a senior residential support worker is lead the team of residential workers on shift by offering support and guidance. To provide 24-hour care and support to the young people in our care. This is a residential children's home so there are practical duties such as general cooking and cleaning but there are also lots of fun things to do, engaging the young people with activities both inside and outside of the home.

A caring and supportive attitude is essential for this role, and we welcome people that have experience with children with disabilities and associated behaviours that challenge.

Total salary is between £39,835 to £41,678 plus the opportunity to do overtime at any of the other children's homes.
