An opportunity has arisen for a 21st Century Schools Administrative Support Officer to cover a period of maternity leave (from Monday 18th August 2025 until Friday 18th June 2026) in the Business Support Section of Education and Inclusion Services.

The post is based at the Valleys Innovation Centre in Abercynon. The successful candidate will join a small team providing direct support to Senior Officers throughout the Directorate.

This role involves providing high-quality project management and administrative support to the School Improvement Service and the wider Education and Inclusion Service Senior Management Team. Main duties include administrative support, documentation and report preparation, arranging meetings, minute-taking, representing the Council at meetings, and assisting in consultation events.

Protecting children and vulnerable adults is a core responsibility of all staff appointed to the Council.

In addition to safeguarding responsibilities, the successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced disclosure and barring service check.
