Description: The L&D Manager is primarily responsible for creating an environment that supports development and growth within our teams, adding value by leading processes and providing tools that support the shipboard L&D experience. The primary responsibility of this role is to support the personal and professional growth of our team members to optimize their skills and competencies to ensure we are able meet the growing and dynamic needs of our business. Demonstrate passion and knowledge in all international service standards for food & beverage, housekeeping and sanitation Ensure learning and development programs are implemented in compliance with the learning and development matrix and that there are measures in place monitor the effectiveness of learning Compile reports as requested by corporate management Is proactive in regards to identifying gaps in or amends to the learning matrix in order to ensure it reflects the changing state of learning and development needs to achieve pre-determined business goals Maintain Learning systems and library Ensure that records meet the necessary standards. Promptly correct deficiencies Administrate Learning Management System (LMS) for BSSL departments, spot check that all OJTs are recorded in LMS Support HODs and middle managers with administering and maintaining accurate records within Cruise Control The L&D Manager is responsible for ensuring that the shipboard team understands and complies with the company's L&D policies and procedures. In case of non-compliance, the L&D Manager must escalate the issue and take necessary actions to address it Contribute in updating the Training & Development Manual in Apollo Solutions Own and lead department change and/or promotion processes, including pre-screening and Career Navigation progression in accordance with documented HR policies and procedures Jointly create effective development plans and coach team members towards their professional development Support the identification of high-performing team members and ensures that a fast-track program is in place for their development the progress of these high-performing individuals is shared with relevant Managers Create a positive learning and development environment that engages with crew and encourages their ongoing self-development and learning throughout their employment with BSSL Actively participate in BSSL crew welfare initiatives, provide suggestions and make recommendations. Seek for personal development of own skills Consistently maintain all branded boards, calendars, and spaces to approved standards Ensure regular and relevant material is submitted for monthly newsletter or any other in-house publication or contest Requirements: Candidate must have cruise ship experience, either as Fleet LDM or onboard HRM. 3 years of experience as professional Trainer in the fields of luxury hotels and/or cruise line Great knowledge about F&B, Housekeeping and general service procedures Familiar with basic shipboard operation Fluent in written and spoken English Ability to communicate effectively with senior management Confident talking in front of an audience that include HODs and senior manager Good administrative skills, organized with great time management Experienced in coaching middle managers Adherence to specific scheduled working hours, yet being flexible to operational requirements Tattoos are allowed (except offensive and facial) Benefits: Free meals and accommodation on board Medical insurance provided by employer Work with international team members Couples are welcome to apply Professional growth opportunities
