As a Facilities Specialist, you will work alongside security and maintenance staff to ensure our buildings and grounds are clean and safe. You will oversee all aspects of building functions and guarantee the safety and functionality of all facilities. Duties include running routine safety inspections, corresponding with contractors, planning maintenance work, maintaining records, and supervising facilities staff. Our ideal candidate is well-versed in facilities management processes and exhibits high multitasking and organizational abilities.

In this role, you will be in charge of:

1. Ensuring a first-class service experience for all customers through various communication channels.
2. Delivering and reinforcing a 'customer driven' culture of continuous improvement to ensure the highest service levels.
3. Ensuring all building facilities adhere to safety standards and cleaning procedures.
4. Maintaining equipment and building provisions to meet health and safety requirements.
5. Organizing and planning building installations and refurbishments as needed.
6. Managing facilities staff and communicating with external contractors and vendors.
7. Keeping building facilities up to standard and following maintenance protocols.
8. Managing cleaning and maintenance responsibilities assigned to team members or service providers.
9. Running routine maintenance inspections in line with compliance requirements.
10. Monitoring interior and exterior areas of the building for cleanliness and conservation.
11. Preparing and implementing project budgets and timeframes for maintenance needs.
12. Complying with UK Health and Safety policies and procedures.
13. Supporting maintenance and installation work as needed.
14. Liaising with external providers to ensure seamless and cost-effective operations.
15. Being accountable for facility costs and exploring cost-effective approaches while maintaining service quality.
16. Addressing site issues reported in a professional and timely manner, including communication with site users.
17. Providing support outside normal working hours if required.

Minimum requirements include:

* Proven experience in a customer/supplier facing role.
* Experience in facilities management and coordination.
* Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment is desirable.
* GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English.
* Strong mechanical and general maintenance skills.
* Knowledge of HVAC and building systems.
* Ability to lift heavy objects and perform labour-intensive tasks.
* Excellent time management, multitasking, organizational, and project management skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Knowledge of UK building systems, maintenance procedures, and HSE regulations.
* Ability to manage budgets and contracts.
* Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Hands-on maintenance skills.
