Qualifications -
* Hold GCSE A* - C / 9 - 4 in English or equivalent (essential)
* Hold GCSE A* - C / 9 - 4 in Maths or equivalent (essential)
* Hold a teaching qualification, ideally to Level 5 or willingness to work towards
Casual Car Documentation - The successful candidate will be a designated Casual Car User, meaning car journeys may be necessary occasionally. You must hold a full valid driving licence, provide your own car, and all necessary documentation. An allowance per mile of business use will be provided.
DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance - This post is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (amended in 2013). Appointees will need to apply for an Enhanced DBS check. All information will be handled confidentially and in accordance with the DBS Code of Practice. We have a policy on the Employment of Ex-Offenders available upon request.
Manchester Adult Education offers an exciting opportunity for a passionate Casual Lecturer to join our Digital Skills, Computing and IT team. The role involves planning, delivering, assessing, and moderating part-time adult courses from Level 1-3, focusing on in-demand areas such as programming, cybersecurity, networking, website design, and digital marketing.
Other courses include:
* Skill Up drop-in workshops (non-accredited)
* Digital Skills for Beginners (non-accredited)
* Microsoft for Work (non-accredited)
* Essential Digital Skills (accredited - exam based)
* Level 2 Award in Digital and IT Skills (accredited - portfolio based)
Key Accountabilities:
* Deliver teaching and learning to at least a good or outstanding standard
* Assess learners' work accurately against awarding body criteria and course targets
* Take course leadership responsibilities
* Participate in team meetings and working groups
* Adhere to quality assurance procedures and service policies
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge in the subject area
You will join a dedicated team passionate about supporting adult learners to improve digital skills for employment or higher education.
This is a casual role teaching during daytime and evening sessions.
About the Candidate
As a Lecturer, you should:
* Have a successful track record of delivering IT courses across various skill levels
* Hold GCSE A* - C / 9 - 4 in English and Maths or equivalent
* Hold or be willing to attain a Level 5 teaching qualification

* Experience with diverse teaching and learning strategies
