GCIO Operations Manager, Cybersecurity – Sheffield, UK
We’re looking for an experienced professional to join our GCIO Ops team in the role of GCIO Operations Manager, Cybersecurity. The GCIO COO function takes ownership of all operational aspects to ensure a seamless running of the GCIO business to exceptionally high standards. Reporting to the GCIO Operations Director for Cybersecurity, you will design, implement and manage efficient global operational processes for all COO related activities for the Capability, including Workforce Management, Financial Management, Portfolio & Accountability, Governance and third‑party management. Your work will simplify and standardise processes across GCIO and partner with central pillar teams.
In This Role You Will
* Workforce Strategy & Management: Define and maintain a rolling 3‑year Service line workforce plan aligned with Cybersecurity financial plans and the wider GCIO & Group workforce strategies. Maintain plans, hit workforce targets, and develop business cases for key initiatives such as contractor replacements, orchestration efficiencies and Generative AI impacts.
* Partnering with GCIO & GBGF Workforce Pillar: Cascade and execute resources across all Service Line Resources, driving alignment to future state and managing hiring, conversion, outsourcing, insourcing and emerging talent programmes.
* Financial Management: Manage the multi‑year Service Line FRP, budget, plan and cost‑manage total spend, identify and deliver cost optimisation levers, forecast accurately and provide transparent reporting to senior leadership.
* Third‑party Management: Lead deal initiation, negotiation, contracting, approvals, execution and post‑execution activities. Coordinate with procurement, finance and technical teams, manage spend approvals, validate benefits and oversee vendor performance and risk management.
* Portfolio & Accountability: Oversee the Service Line change portfolio, define milestones, coordinate programmes in Clarity, provide detailed reports, ensure accountability, and adopt best practice in partnership with GBGF and central portfolio teams.
* Governance: Manage commitments in governance forums, write papers, proactively manage actions and engage stakeholders in support of your Service Line CIO.
Required Qualifications
* Proven senior executive leadership and management experience within financial services, multinational banking or technology.
* Track record of building and leading a high‑performance global team.
* Excellent people‑influencing skills, with demonstrated teamwork, collaboration and the ability to secure buy‑in.
* Experience managing within a complex matrix environment.
* Deep financial and commercial awareness.
* Demonstrable experience managing significant financial and resource plans, organisational transformation and project portfolio management.
