We have an exciting opportunity available for a Junior Information Security Analyst to join our Technology function in Basingstoke.
In this role, you will support the day-to-day security operations of our cloud-first banking environment. You will support the bank's efforts to protect its data, systems, and infrastructure from cyber threats and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Key responsibilities will include:
* Demonstrate a technical aptitude for analysing and triaging Cyber incidents and events, be able to influence while problem solving and build strong relationships with your peers.
* Monitor security alerts and events using SIEM tools and escalate incidents as needed.
* Assist in vulnerability management assessments and remediation tracking.
* Support the implementation and maintenance of security policies, procedures, and standards.
* Conduct regular audits of access controls and user permissions.
* Help investigate security incidents and document findings.
* Assist with cyber-attack simulations, phishing and education and awareness campaigns.
* Maintain logs and documentation for compliance and reporting purposes.
* Stay current with emerging threats and trends in cybersecurity.
* Manage Service tickets.
* Participate in the IT on-call rota providing 24x7x365 cover.
What we are looking for in you…
What is important to us is that you have an understanding of cybersecurity concepts with knowledge in Cloud infrastructure and networking (Azure, Google). You will have a working knowledge of of Sophos Antivirus and Windows Defender and good knowledge of operating systems (Windows client and Server, Linux). You will also have a good understanding of core network principles & services and knowledge of SOC & SIEM solutions such as Azure Sentinel, Darktrace. If you have working knowledge of monitoring tools (e.g. SolarWinds Pingdom, Dynatrace, AppDynamics) and security frameworks (e.g. NIST, CBEST, Cyber Essentials) it would be advantageous, as would familiarity with scripting (e.g. PowerShell, Bash, Python).
What is equally important is that you are highly organised and task driven with the ability to work well under pressure in an agile environment. You'll need to possess a passion for continuous learning, strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking and good judgement. You will need to be a team player and someone that can drive solutions whilst maintaining technical rigour, with a strong ethos on change control and service introduction. In addition, you will need strong communication skills for interaction with both colleagues and senior stakeholders. A relevant qualification (such as a degree in Computer Science, ITIL Foundation or Security + / Network +) would be advantageous.
