Manufacturing Lead
Location: Aberystwyth
Salary: Up to £60,000
Working Pattern: 1 day per week work from home
Contract: Permanent
We’re working with an established manufacturing business based in Aberystwyth, operating within a technology-led, high-value engineering sector. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Manufacturing Lead to take full responsibility for their Manufacturing function.
This is a senior leadership role with accountability for both the strategic direction and day-to-day performance of manufacturing, working closely with cross-functional teams to support current operations and future growth.
The Role
You will be responsible for developing manufacturing people, processes and strategy to deliver high-quality, technically complex products. The role combines leadership, operational excellence and collaboration, ensuring manufacturing supports business objectives while embedding a strong continuous improvement culture.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the full Manufacturing function, including production, stores and logistics
Act as the Manufacturing representative across the wider business
Develop and deliver a Manufacturing strategy aligned with long-term business objectives
Champion continuous improvement and modern manufacturing practices
Work closely with Sales and Operations to deliver customer orders and plan against forecasts
Support New Product Introduction through structured gating processes with Engineering and related teams
Ensure training plans and records are maintained across the department
Build and manage supplier relationships and oversee stock control
Hold departmental sign-off responsibility for documentation, training and budgets
Take full accountability for manufacturing health & safety
Facilitate internal and external audits and site visits
Oversee onboarding and development of new team members
Drive innovation while maintaining quality and compliance
Promote engagement, recognition and team development Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Essential:
Proven people leadership experience including coaching, development and performance management
Strong problem-solving and decision-making capability
Effective communicator able to work collaboratively across departments
Ability to prioritise, delegate and manage competing demands
Comfortable adopting and implementing new technologies
Experience working within cross-functional environments
Knowledge and experience using MRP systems
Strong IT literacy across standard Windows-based applications Why apply?
