Job Description
Working in a small team, you will be a true trusted business partner working across your business portfolio and supporting business change activities alike as we implement a business wide Tech transformation. As part of the 1st Line Risk Team you will support both regulated and non-regulated mortgage business activities providing appropriate training, support, assistance and advice in order to empower effective risk management. You will offer oversight to the business areas in order to determine the level of risk management maturity and if applicable, to identify more targeted areas of further support required such as operational, conduct and compliance risk types.
Responsibilities include (but not limited to) the following:
12. Support, train, challenge and oversight of business:RCSAsIncidentsRoot cause analysis
13. Support in maximising the utilisation and benefits of the Group ERMF toolkit in order to manage risk effectively, consistently and transparently.
14. Provide risk insight and divisional risk profiles to HODs in order to support/challenge prioritisation and focus on a risk basis.
15. Provide consolidated reporting to the centralised 1st Line Risk Report submission to Risk Committees.
16. Support the wider business transformation program in the design and development of effective risk controls
17. Triage and submit through governance proposed business risk acceptances as a first line challenge and advisory support.
18. Support in the review, definition and execution of business area KRIs, informing early indication of risk exposure for treatment.
19. reviews providing control recommendations for specific areas of risk.
20. Providing regular feedback and reporting of the maturity and risk profile of business areas.
21. Support with the continual development of the 1st Line Risk operating model
22. Support with the conducting of periodic ‘risk assessments’ in order to inform assurance planning.
23. Support in the design and delivery of risk training across the business.
Qualifications
Candidates with a blend of the following skills will be highly regarded:
24. Experience within a 1st line Risk role.
25. Has a passion for true partnering, collaboration and developing strong relationships with stakeholders
26. Has designed effective controls for regulated processes
27. Have designed effective controls within a Financial Services business or similar regulated industry
28. Understands Operational challenges and how to support this from a first line risk perspective
29. Has worked within a three lines of defence model
30. Understanding of risk management and how to effectively document and review RSCAs, incidents, risk metrics etc.
31. Has experience in using risk management system solutions.
32. Has experience practicing risk against an established enterprise risk management framework.
33. Has experience in ‘transformation’ programmes (preferable).
