Position:

This opportunity is for a 12-month Fixed Term Contract.

Brunel Pension Partnership Limited (Brunel) is looking for an experienced
Compliance Manager
for a
12-month fixed-term contract
. This role will play a key part in supporting the delivery and ongoing development of our compliance framework, with a particular focus on Compliance Advisory and day-to-day compliance activities.

Working closely with the Head of Operational Risk & Compliance (HoORC), the Compliance Manager will help implement Brunel's compliance strategy and ensure the business continues to meet high standards and regulatory obligations.

You will join at a critical juncture in Brunel's journey, following the government's launch of a new round of consolidation in LGPS pooling.

As Compliance Manager, you'll support the Head of Operational Risk & Compliance and Junior Risk and Compliance Analyst, in delivering Brunel's compliance strategy and ensuring regulatory standards are met. Key responsibilities include:

* Providing regulatory advice and guidance across the business, including policy reviews and input into key projects.
* Managing compliance queries and approvals (e.g., PA Dealing, Gifts & Entertainment, Conflicts of Interest).
* Leading compliance training and reviewing learning materials for accuracy and relevance.
* Completing FCA filings and supporting SMCR processes in collaboration with HR.
* Identifying and assessing regulatory risks through horizon scanning and internal reviews.
* Conducting thematic compliance monitoring and facilitating remedial actions.
* Preparing compliance reports and documentation for governance committees.
* Maintaining compliance manuals, policies, and procedures.
* Supporting compliance-related projects and staying up to date with FCA requirements.

Bespoke Requirements for this role:

* Strong alignment with Brunel's values and commitment to diversity and inclusion.
* Minimum 8+ years' compliance experience, including senior roles in FCA-regulated investment management firms.
* Experience in Compliance Advisory and conducting structured compliance monitoring reviews.
* Solid knowledge of UK financial services regulation, particularly the FCA Handbook.
* Familiarity with SMCR, Conflicts of Interest, Gifts & Entertainment, and PA Dealing.
* Experience reviewing and updating Compliance Policies.
* Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., CISI or equivalent) are advantageous.
* Proficiency in business applications to support compliance activities.
* Experience in dynamic, change-driven environments.
* Detail-oriented with a "completer-finisher" mindset and sound judgment.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
* Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach.
* Confident in constructively challenging across all levels.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
