Overview
Research Fellow / Senior Research Fellow in Digital Engineering for Gas Turbines. The Rolls-Royce University Technology Centre for Computational Engineering is recruiting two research fellows to work on a multi-partner Innovate UK funded project. The role involves developing digital engineering technologies to accelerate the design of the next generation of gas turbine engines, in collaboration with industrial partners.
The successful candidates will have a PhD or equivalent in a relevant discipline and experience in developing machine/deep learning (ML/DL) methods for engineering. They will use this experience to develop methods that accelerate gas turbine design and improve through-life performance predictions, leveraging both computational and experimental data. Experience with numerical modelling (e.g., CFD and FEA), teamwork with industry, and dissemination of research in high impact journals and at international conferences are also required.
This full-time post is offered on a fixed-term contract until 30 September 2028.
Qualifications
* PhD or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
* Experience in development of machine/deep learning (ML/DL) methods for engineering.
* Experience in numerical modelling (e.g., CFD and FEA).
* Experience working as part of a team with industrial partners.
* Experience disseminating research in high impact journals and at international conferences.
