Support Worker (Maternity Leave Cover) - 30 Hours per Week
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Support Worker to join our team on a maternity leave cover basis, supporting individuals across two residential services.
You will be working with adults with learning disabilities, autism, epilepsy, and acquired brain injury, supporting them to live as independently as possible while ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and personal development.
About the Role
You will provide person-centred support across two houses:
House 1 (fast-paced environment) Supporting three young women with varying needs:
* One individual is semi-independent with good verbal communication and requires prompting and supervision with daily tasks.
* One individual requires 1:1 support at all times, has limited verbal communication, and communicates primarily through gestures. Full support is required for daily living tasks.
* One individual is independent with personal care but requires prompting, supervision, and behavioural support.
House 2 (calm, routine-based environment) Supporting two individuals (with a third due to move in):
* One individual is highly independent and requires minimal support.
* One individual requires full support with daily living tasks, including personal care and communication support.
This service is quieter and focuses on consistency, routine, and maintaining independence.
Key Responsibilities
* Supporting individuals with daily living tasks including personal care, cooking, and household activities
* Promoting independence, choice, and skill-building
* Supporting individuals to access the community and attend appointments
* Administering medication (including covert medication where required, following training and protocols)
* Managing and responding appropriately to behaviours that may challenge
* Maintaining accurate records and working as part of a team
Working Pattern
* 30 hours per week
* Rotas released 6 weeks in advance
* Mixture of early, late, sleep-in, and waking night shifts
Shift Times Include:
* Early shifts from approximately 6:30am/7:00am start
* Late shifts finishing between 9:30pm/10:00pm
* Sleep-in shifts (10:00pm- 6:30am/7:00am)
* Waking night shifts (9:30pm- 7:00am or 9:00am depending on the day)
Sleep-in shifts are shared across the team.
