Lead Aircraft Sheet Metal Mechanic (Manchester Airport)
STS Aviation Services is experiencing rapid growth, and we’re looking for dedicated Aircraft Sheet Metal Mechanics to join our expanding team in Manchester, United Kingdom. As a Sheet Metal Worker, you will play a key role in structural repair, performing major disassembly, modification, and rebuild of aircraft structures in our base maintenance operations. Key Duties & Responsibilities
* Perform major structural repairs and modifications, including removal of aircraft structural sections while stress-jacked.
* Work to fine tolerances and maintain high standards of craftsmanship and precision.
* Uphold high housekeeping standards to ensure a safe and clean working environment.
* Adhere to company and manufacturer procedures when executing repairs and modifications.
* Implement modifications from drawings and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
Skills & Experience Requirements
* Aircraft engineering apprenticeship completed or relevant live aircraft experience.
* 5 years of hands-on experience in live aircraft and structural maintenance.
* Proven experience in aircraft modification/production environments.
* Ability to read and interpret manufacturer drawings and Structural Repair Manuals (SRMs).
* Excellent hand skills with a strong attention to detail.
* Strong sense of ownership and accountability for assigned tasks.
* Well-developed organizational skills and ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Proficiency in MS Office applications.
* Eligible to work in the UK.
