Engineering Shift Manager – Manufacturing Operation
We are looking for an Engineering Shift Manager to join our Manufacturing Operation in Gadbrook Produce (Northwich). The responsibilities for Engineering Shift Manager in this role are critical to ensuring the smooth operation of the manufacturing site.
Responsibilities
* Minimizing Machinery Downtime: proactive and predictive maintenance, swift response to unexpected breakdowns to keep equipment operational and maintain production schedules.
* Improving Performance: continually seek opportunities to enhance equipment performance without compromising product quality, optimising processes, implementing upgrades, and using data‑driven approaches.
* Engineer Engagement: foster a positive work environment, provide training and development opportunities, and recognise and reward achievements.
* Asset Care Programme: lead and support the Morrisons asset care programme to maintain and prolong asset life, reduce maintenance costs and ensure best practices.
* Hands‑On Approach: repair and optimise equipment assets, setting an example for the team and addressing issues promptly.
* Maintenance Coordination: coordinate priorities with the Maintenance team to plan and execute maintenance efficiently.
* Crisis Incident Management: handle crisis incidents, accidents and near misses, conduct investigations and take corrective actions.
* Discipline and Grievance: enforce discipline and grievance procedures to uphold standards and address misconduct.
Qualifications & Requirements
* NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent), ONC mechanical/electrical engineering, BTEC Level 3 in mechanical & electrical/electronic engineering.
* Proven track record in an engineering and fault‑finding role gained from a FMCG environment (ideally the food industry).
* Proven track record of people management and delivering strong results through a team.
* Good understanding of HACCP principles and ideally IEE qualification up to 18th edition wiring regulations.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Assertiveness with the ability to make decisions on the spot.
* Can‑do attitude and a strong work ethic.
