Infrastructure Mergers & Acquisition Integrations Specialist
Loughborough (2 days per week in the office) plus travel to various sites during key delivery phases
We are looking for a hands‑on Infrastructure / Cloud Engineer contractor to support a fast‑paced M&A integration and systems migration programme across multiple UK and European sites.
This role would suit a highly capable “jack of all trades” engineer who is comfortable operating independently, taking ownership of technical workstreams and working within fast‑moving environments with limited documentation and evolving requirements.
The successful candidate will act as the technical M365, Build and Migration lead within a small project team, supporting acquisitions, tenant consolidations, site migrations and end‑user integration activities.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and support Microsoft 365 and infrastructure migration activities
* Manage data migrations using BitTitan, ShareGate and Quest
* Support Entra ID / Active Directory integration and migration activities
* Build, configure and deploy laptops and end‑user devices using Intune / Autopilot
* Carry out application testing, validation and legacy system assessments
* Work closely with 3rd party vendors, software providers and MSPs
* Troubleshoot infrastructure, application and migration‑related issues
* Support cutover planning, execution and hyper‑care activities
* Assist with networking and site infrastructure activities where required
* Produce clear technical documentation, handover notes and migration updates
* Identify risks, dependencies and technical challenges proactively and drive solutions
Required Skills & Experience
* Strong Microsoft 365 and cloud infrastructure experience
* Experience delivering M&A integrations, carve‑outs or divestments
* Hands‑on experience with BitTitan, ShareGate tooling
* Strong understanding of Entra ID, Active Directory and endpoint management
* Intune and Autopilot deployment experience
* Good networking fundamentals including VPNs, DNS, DHCP and firewall awareness
* Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
* Comfortable working across infrastructure, EUC and migration activities
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
* Strong communication skills with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
* Willingness to travel and support onsite activities when required
Additional Information
Home base will be Loughborough approximately 2 days per week, however travel will form a significant part of the role. The programme currently supports 7 UK sites and 1 site in the EU.
Weekend cutovers and out‑of‑hours migration activities may be required during key delivery phases.
This is a delivery‑focused role suited to someone who is adaptable, proactive and comfortable rolling their sleeves up to get things done.
