About Us

The Road Victims Trust (RVT) is a registered charity dedicated to providing essential emotional and practical support to individuals affected by fatal and serious road collisions across Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, and Hertfordshire. Each year, we support over 550 individuals, working collaboratively with local Roads Policing Units to ensure the highest standards of victim care.

The Role

We are currently seeking a Counselling Coordinator to join our passionate team. In this critical role, you will manage new case referrals, arrange counselling provisions, maintain a small clinical caseload, and oversee various administrative tasks.

Please Note: If the applicant is external to RVT (i.e. not a current RVT Volunteer) the successful applicant would be required to complete our 5 week in-person training course.

We will be in touch with information on dates of our current training course to be held in Huntingdon in February/March 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage new case referrals, including follow-ups and communication with potential clients and relevant agencies.
Coordinate the deployment of volunteers and manage room bookings as needed.
Maintain a caseload while liaising with partner organisations to provide comprehensive support.
Keep accurate records of client cases and monitor counselling volunteer recruitment and training.
Participate in ongoing training and attend meetings to foster a collaborative environment.

Ideal Candidate:

A recognised diploma or degree in Counselling.
Membership of BACP/UKCP or an equivalent body.
Experience working with trauma and bereavement.
Strong administrative skills and proficiency in Microsoft 365.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with diverse clients.
A full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
A commitment to continuous personal and professional development.

Benefits On Offer:

25 days annual leave plus bank holidays (pro-rata for part-time).
Access to external clinical supervision.
Opportunities for CPD and career development.
Membership of a pension scheme following the completion of the probationary period.

The role requires DBS checking to an Enhanced level and will be subject to a 6-month probationary period.

At the Road Victims Trust, we foster a culture of compassion and support, ensuring that every team member feels valued and part of a greater mission to help those in need. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
