The role is homeworking, based in Somerset, for 10 hours per week, paid at an hourly rate of £14.

Job Responsibility:
Reporting directly to the Treasurer, the successful applicant will be responsible for providing accurate bookkeeping and financial reporting, and assisting with grant funding applications and reports.
This role would suit a reliable, well-organised and self-motivated person, with a desire to be part of our small team making a valuable difference to children and young people in our local communities.
At least 2 years of accounting experience is essential, and an AAT qualification or equivalent is desirable. Experience of charity accounting would be an advantage.
The duties of the role include:
* Updating and maintaining accounting records on Quickbooks, ensuring that income and expenditure is correctly allocated against grant funding.
* Monthly bank reconciliations.
* Preparing invoices to clients for our services, matching remittances to invoices, and operating credit control procedures where necessary.
* Preparing monthly accounts, monitoring results against budget, and assisting the treasurer in updating the cashflow forecast.
* Assisting the treasurer to prepare quarterly finance reports for the Board of Trustees.
* Liaising with our Trusts and Foundations team to prepare budgets and financial information for grant applications.
* Maintaining our grants database and preparing finance reports to funders as required.
* Processing staff expense claims and timesheets and ensuring accurate allocation to grant funding.
* Extracting monthly reports from Just Giving and making necessary accounting entries to reconcile the account, ensuring that Gift Aid is claimed on donations where applicable.
* Assisting with preparation of year-end accounting reports as required for the annual audit.
