Location: Burnley
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
Contract: Full-time, long-term
Pay: £13.75 per hour
Are you a Sports graduate passionate about using your skills to make a difference in the lives of young people? Are you looking to gain practical experience in an educational setting before progressing into teaching, youth work, coaching, or behaviour support?
We are currently recruiting for a Sports graduate to join a supportive secondary alternative provision in Burnley. This school provides tailored education for students who have been excluded or are at risk of exclusion from mainstream education, often due to behavioural, emotional, or social challenges.
This is an ideal opportunity for a graduate with a background in sport, physical education, or coaching who is interested in working with young people in a non-traditional classroom setting.
Key responsibilities include:
* Supporting students in lessons, particularly during PE and practical activities
* Leading or assisting with sports-based interventions and activities to promote engagement
* Building positive relationships with pupils to encourage participation and motivation
* Assisting in managing classroom behaviour and promoting positive conduct
* Working one-to-one or in small groups with students who need additional support
This role offers excellent hands-on experience for those considering a future in education, alternative provision, mentoring or youth sport development. You’ll be working as part of a dedicated team that supports students to re-engage with their learning and develop key life skills through physical activity and structured support.
