They are looking for a driven Ocean & Road Freight Coordinator looking to take a key role in the operations team with the ability to further develop across freight forwarding - this business offers driven professionals opportunity's for further growth in skill as well as overall development. -
Job Title: Multimodal Freight Forwarder ( Road & Ocean )Location: Birmingham (Hybrid) Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 + 10% BonusKey Responsibilities
o Manage full end-to-end FCL ocean export operations, including bookings, documentation, tracking, and customer updates.
o Coordinate with shippers, consignees, carriers, and overseas agents daily.
o Oversee costings, billing, and KPI reporting.
o Handle shipment issues, delays, and escalations professionally.
o Support the 3PL project: stock checks, UK & DE flows, and EU distribution.
o Complete UK import / export customs declarations and prepare trade documents (COO, EUR1).
o Ensure compliance with HMRC and international trade regulations.
o Assist with EU road freight planning, quoting, and container deliveries.
o Maintain accurate data within Riege Scope and communicate effectively with all partners.
o Support general multi modal freight operations.
Ideal Experience
o Strong ocean export experience (ideally FCL).
o Ability to manage full export cycles independently.
o Hands-on customs declaration experience.
o Strong organisation and ability to manage multiple shipments.
o Confident using IT systems and learning new tools.
o Freight forwarding background.
o EU road freight experience.
o Knowledge of CFSP/IP customs procedures.
o Understanding of warehouse/3PL operations.
o Familiarity with CNS, Destin8, Descartes
