Senior Specialist Pharmacist for Surgery
We are looking for a forward‑thinking, enthusiastic pharmacist to help lead, deliver and develop inpatient pharmacy services to the surgery wards at Northwick Park Hospital.
This is a part‑time post. The post holder will be required to participate in the on‑call (back‑up), weekend, bank holiday and late‑night duty rotas.
Key Duties Include
* Manage, provide and develop a safe and effective clinical pharmacy service to the Surgical Directorate wards and clinical areas, in accordance with Trust policies.
* Have oversight of the Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacy assistants providing the Pharmacy services to the Surgical Directorate.
* Act as a lead for the training and development of the rotational band 6 and 7 pharmacists during their Surgery rotations.
* Serve as a practice tutor and educational facilitator to pharmacists taking the JPB postgraduate Diploma in Pharmacy Practice.
* Assist in the training, development and supervision of ward‑based Pharmacy technicians and assistants.
* Work as an independent prescriber, or work towards gaining the relevant qualification, in accordance with a defined scope of practice agreed by the NMP Group.
* Help with multidisciplinary training to nurses, doctors and other Healthcare professionals.
* Plan, organise and conduct audit within both the pharmacy department and the Surgical Directorate.
* Participate in the provision of general pharmacy services such as dispensing for discharge, weekends, public holidays, late duty and on‑call duties.
