Overview
We are looking for registered nurses and midwives qualified in first and second trimester ultrasound scanning to provide safe and effective care in the Midlands area. The role requires 38 hours per week, 9.5 hours per day from 8am‑6pm, 4 days per week, with some weekend work on a rotational basis. The position involves delivering consultations for unplanned pregnancy, surgical and medical abortions, contraception, and sexual health services.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide safe and effective medical and surgical abortion care, including consultations, procedures, and post‑care via telephone and remote services.
* Conduct ultrasound scanning, assess patients, and provide contraception and sexual health advice, fitting subdermal implants where trained.
* Ensure accurate documentation and safe medication administration in line with policy.
* Obtain informed consent, manage clinical safety, and monitor patient observations and outcomes.
* Engage in clinical supervision, professional development, and learning from patient safety incidents.
* Maintain confidentiality, comply with GDPR and information governance, and support safeguarding and child protection duties as required.
* Travel within the Midlands region and nationally as needed for clinic visits.
Qualifications
* Current NMC registration as a Registered Nurse (Sub-part 1) or Registered Midwife.
* Experience in first and second trimester ultrasound scanning.
* Contraceptive qualification and experience fitting subdermal implants.
* Independent Non‑Medical/Supplementary Prescribing qualification (if applicable).
* Professional endorsement as a nurse or midwifery advocate.
Benefits
