About the Team
The Expedia Technology teams collaborate with our Product teams to create innovative products, services, and tools that deliver high-quality experiences for travelers, partners, and our employees. Our singular technology platform, powered by data and machine learning, provides secure, differentiated, and personalized experiences that drive loyalty and satisfaction.
Your Role: iOS Engineer
As an iOS Engineer within the Expedia Group Design System (EGDS) team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and evolving our design system. You will work closely with designers and engineering teams across Expedia Group to deliver high-quality experiences and UI patterns for travelers and suppliers.
In this role, you will:
* Apply your technical iOS engineering knowledge to solve user experience challenges.
* Collaborate with UX designers, engineers, and product managers to develop innovative solutions.
* Utilize software design principles to write clean, maintainable, and optimized code.
* Seek opportunities to build new technical expertise and engage with subject matter experts.
* Coordinate stakeholder input and proactively report on work status.
* Develop prototypes that impact strategy and advise on technical limitations.
Who You Are:
You are a passionate engineer with:
* 2+ years of professional experience with Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit, and Xcode.
* A solid understanding of unit testing and debugging techniques.
* Familiarity with iOS app design patterns (e.g., MVC, MVVM, MVP) and their pros and cons.
* A collaborative spirit, eager to work with designers and engineers to create delightful user experiences.
* Experience in designing interactions, transitions, animations, and a good grasp of layout and screen flow.
* A proactive approach to sharing knowledge and seeking personal growth.
* Experience with design systems and an understanding of their value.
