We are seeking a Satellite Communications Systems Engineer (focused on ground segment) to work on our customer's site at ESA-ECSAT in the UK. This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of the most sought-after space agencies in the world.

As a Satellite Communications Systems Engineer, you will join the ECSAT community and associated organizations within the European Space Agency, supporting activities in the Telecommunication Satellite Domain for innovative projects.

The scope of work will include:
* Supporting project preparation, implementation, and industrial activity management.
* Assisting in system modeling and analysis, providing engineering support to the System Engineer and Ground Segment manager.
* Supporting the Programme Manager and System Engineer in coordinating internal studies and documentation.
* Monitoring industrial activities to ensure requirements are met cost-effectively from system to sub-system levels.
* Participating in agency reviews, including System Requirements Review and Preliminary Design Review.
* Defining technology activities and technical studies for future program phases.
* Assessing new concepts and techniques for next-generation space and ground segment telecommunication systems.
* Supporting the preparation of status reports for progress tracking.
Skills and Experience:
* Master’s degree in Engineering or a relevant field.
* Minimum 4 years proven experience in satellite communications.
* Experience in satellite communication ground segment digitalization (containerization, virtualization, AI/ML, DIFI).
* Experience in satellite communication terminal/modem development (DVB-S2/S2X, 5G-NR NTN); FPGA development experience is a plus.
* Excellent organizational and communication skills.
* Ability to produce high-quality documentation.
* Ability to work autonomously and in multicultural team environments.
* Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
* EU nationals only; no UK nationals unless dual EU nationality.
