The Role:
We are seeking a flexible and passionate Supply Primary Teacher to work across multiple primary schools in Lewes on a full-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity for Newly Qualfiied Teachers or those returning to the profession who enjoy variety, adaptability, and making a positive impact across different school communities.
As a Supply Teacher, you will cover classes, deliver planned lessons, and ensure continuity of learning across a range of year groups. You will adapt lessons to meet the needs of pupils, provide engaging learning experiences, and maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment in each setting.
Supply teaching can be especially beneficial for newly qualified teachers because it offers a supportive way to build confidence and experience without the full pressure of a permanent role. It allows you to work in a variety of schools, helping you quickly develop adaptable classroom‑management skills and discover the environments where you feel most at home. With fewer administrative demands, you can focus on refining your teaching practice, gaining valuable insight into different approaches, and growing professionally at a pace that feels manageable.
The ideal candidate will have:
1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
2. Experience teaching in primary schools (this can be through placements)
3. Flexibility and adaptability to work across different schools and year groups
4. Strong classroom management skills
5. Excellent communication and teamwork skills
6. Ability to deliver engaging lessons across the primary curriculum
