About The Role

FGR Community is committed to reducing barriers to participation and creating opportunities for everyone to get active. As Disability Football Officer, you will play a key role in engaging children and young people with disabilities through football and physical activity.

You will lead on delivering inclusive football sessions in schools and community settings, develop disability-focused programmes and events, and work with partners to ensure every participant has a safe, positive and enjoyable experience. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about inclusion, has strong communication skills, and wants to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people.

Main Objectives:

Session Support

1. Delivery of high-quality, inclusive football and physical activity sessions in schools, community settings, and at events.
2. Adapt activities to meet the needs of individual participants.
3. Encourage a safe, positive, and enjoyable experience for all.

Community Engagement

4. Be an ambassador for FGR Community by promoting inclusion and teamwork.
5. Help build positive relationships with participants, parents, schools, and community groups.

Events & Matchdays

6. Support the delivery of disability football festivals, tournaments, and matchday experiences.
7. Assist in ensuring events run smoothly, safely, and inclusively.

Safeguarding & Administration

8. Follow safeguarding procedures at all times and raise concerns where appropriate.
9. Help with basic tasks such as equipment set-up, registers, and general session organisation.
10. Collaborate within the broader organisation and perform tasks as needed to ensure the realisation of the organisation's strategic goals.

Role Requirements

11. This role is subject to full DBS Disclosure certification checks.
12. Evening and weekend work where required.
13. Full UK driving licence.

About You

Person Specification

14. FA Level 2 Coaching (Essential)
15. Experience in working in disability sport (Essential)
16. Disability football introduction or willingness to work towards (Essential)
17. Friendly, well organised with the ability to multi-task and exhibit a high level of honesty, integrity, reliability and confidentiality. (Essential)
18. Competent in undertaking administrative tasks. (Essential)
19. Strong written and verbal communication skills. (Essential)
20. Good IT skills (in particular Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) (Essential)
21. Ability to work autonomously and use own initiative. (Essential)
22. Good time-management and flexible work ethic in a fast-paced environment (Essential)
23. Happy working within a team and supporting team members as needed. (Essential)
24. Strong passion for community engagement and promoting the positive aspects of supporting FGR. (Essential)
25. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. (Essential)
26. FA First Aid or willing to work towards (Essential)
27. FA Safeguarding or willing to work towards (Essential)
28. Other disability coaching qualifications (Desirable)
29. Experience with event planning and coordination. (Desirable)
30. Previous experience in community outreach or fan engagement. (Desirable)
31. D1 Minibus Driving Licence (Desirable)
