Highways Inspector – WCR 3 BASE
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Highways Inspector to join our dynamic team. As a Highways Inspector, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our highway infrastructure is maintained to the highest standards, promoting safety and efficiency for all road users. This challenging position requires a keen eye for detail, a thorough understanding of highway maintenance practices, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including contractors, engineers, and local authorities.
In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting highways, identifying repair needs, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and safety guidelines. You will also be tasked with recording maintenance activities and preparing detailed reports for various projects.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to public safety, with a passion for infrastructure development and maintenance.
Responsibilities
* Conduct regular inspections of highways to assess their condition and identify necessary repairs.
* Evaluate highway designs, materials, and construction methods for compliance with regulations and standards.
* Monitor contractor performance during highway maintenance and construction projects to ensure quality workmanship.
* Prepare detailed inspection reports and documentation related to findings and recommendations.
* Collaborate with engineers and project managers to plan and implement highway maintenance strategies.
* Communicate with local authorities and stakeholders regarding maintenance needs and traffic safety issues.
* Stay updated on highway safety standards and best practices in highway inspection and maintenance.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field.
* Proven experience in highway inspection, maintenance, or construction.
* Strong knowledge of highway safety regulations and engineering principles.
* Excellent observational and analytical skills to assess infrastructure conditions.
* Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to articulate findings and recommendations.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Familiarity with inspection tools and technology for documenting highway conditions.

Pay Per Day: £228.53
