The Senior Site Procurement Manager will manage site procurement for our Ware site, one of the largest manufacturing sites in the GSK network. You will partner with operations, engineering, technical, quality and finance to ensure the site has the goods and services it needs to operate reliably and safely.
Business Strategy
* Develop and propose long‑ and short‑term plans to improve procurement processes and enhance overall site performance.
* Manage the interfaces between procurement and the site, balancing the expectations of both stakeholders.
* Ensure site requirements are considered within the definition and implementation of global category strategies.
* Develop and implement procurement strategies for locally owned categories of spend that meet business requirements.
Procurement Management
* Manage the procurement function across the site (direct and indirect spend).
* Develop and manage the site supply base to meet GSK’s requirements: assurance of supply, quality, regulatory compliance, service, cost and innovation; control costs in a fast‑moving environment and adapt to regular changes in business requirements.
* For specific spend categories, negotiate contracts.
* Co‑ordinate support from multiple category teams and work within a matrix organisation.
Team
You will manage a Site Procurement Specialist. Responsibilities include selecting, training, supervising, developing and evaluating team members, motivating them toward operational excellence, and promoting empowerment and process ownership.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree, preferably in science or business.
* Operational procurement / supply‑chain experience across multiple categories of spend.
* Direct experience managing procurement for a specific supply category, or more generally across site‑level spend (direct or indirect).
* Proficiency with procurement tools and basic spend analysis; experience with ERP systems is preferred.
* Demonstrated experience establishing annual direct material budgets, setting standard costs and tracking PPV performance versus targets.
* Commercial and negotiation skills, demonstrated through supplier contracts or savings delivery.
* Ability to drive and implement change.
* Enterprise mindset – translating and mapping procurement goals to business needs.
* Demonstrated team‑management skills, the ability to motivate and inspire colleagues, and partnership skills to drive, implement and support change.
Preferred Qualifications
* Advanced degree or professional certification in procurement or supply chain (e.g., CIPS or CPSM).
* Previous experience in pharmaceutical, life‑sciences or highly regulated manufacturing environments.
* Experience in sourcing respiratory devices and/or printed paper packaging.
* CI mindset – operational excellence training or certification.
