Associate – ENERGY & PROJECTS

A leading international law firm with a strong sector-focused approach is seeking a 2-5YR PQE Associate to join its projects & energy team in London.
The firm operates across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Australia, advising clients in industries including energy, transport, logistics, commodities, construction, insurance and aviation. The practice is recognised for its pragmatic, commercially-focused advice and involvement in complex, high-value matters.
The Role
This is a transactional role covering a blend of energy oil & gas, projects, corporate and commercial work, including:
Projects
* Advising on international, high-value projects, particularly within the energy oil & gas and ports & terminals sectors
* Drafting and negotiating key transaction documents, including concession agreements and long-term licence arrangements
* Supporting the development, construction and operation of infrastructure and energy facilities, including offshore assets
Corporate
* Advising on acquisitions, disposals and joint ventures
* Drafting and negotiating transaction documentation such as share purchase agreements, shareholder agreements and joint venture agreements
* Conducting due diligence
* Preparing board minutes, shareholder approvals and completion documentation
* Providing general corporate advisory support
Commercial
* Advising on a range of commercial contracts, particularly relating to transport, logistics, warehousing, ports and terminals services
Cross-Border Transactions
* Coordinating with international offices and local counsel on multi-jurisdictional transactions and due diligence exercises
Practice Development
* Supporting client pitches, seminars and presentations
* Contributing to thought leadership and client publications
Candidate Requirements
* Qualified lawyer (2-5 PQE)
* Experience in transactional work within a leading law firm environment
* Interest in corporate, commercial and projects work
* Strong academic background (minimum 2:1 or equivalent)
* Excellent analytical and drafting skills
* Strong attention to detail
* Effective communication and presentation skills
* Commercial awareness and interest in business development
* Ability to manage multiple workstreams and collaborate across teams
* Proactive, motivated and able to build strong client relationships
Sector Experience
Prior experience in energy, logistics or ports & terminals is not essential, but candidates should demonstrate a strong interest in developing expertise in these sectors.
