Where you’ll be based:
Our hospital is conveniently located on the outskirts of Chelmsford with plenty of free parking onsite. We also offer outreach clinics in Southend and Brentwood enabling you access to our expert consultants and diagnostics close to home. We are proud to work with over 200 of the most experienced and qualified consultants locally, most of whom also have substantive posts within the consultants are supported by a team of highly skilled and friendly nursing staff who have your care and comfort as their highest priority and our Resident Medical Officer who is on site 24 hours a day.
Responsibilities:
1. To deliver the highest achievable standards of care to paediatric patients within the Outpatients
2. To deliver individualistic patient care whilst maintaining the patient’s safety, dignity and confidentiality.
3. To follow established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
4. Act in accordance to Child Protection legislation.
5. Ensures that the highest possible standard of patient care is maintained by self and other staff, in accordance with agreed policies and procedures.
6. Ensures all documentation is accurately recorded in line with NMC guidelines and company policy.
7. Ensures the safe custody of controlled drugs in accordance with agreed policies and procedures.
8. Acts as key communicator to consultants regarding their patients care and needs within designated specialities.
9. Communicates relevant information to Senior nurse in charge
10. Ensures that equipment is in a good state of repair and serviced in accordance with manufacturers guidelines.
11. Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
12. Knowledge of supportive care principles and techniques for patient care.
13. Ability to perform nursing assessments and patient triage.
14. Patient assessment and referral skills.
15. Is responsible for ensuring clinical care is of the highest standards and that all relevant documentation is current within designated specialities.
16. Ensures that all patient care is delivered in accordance with professional body’s code of conduct.
17. Protects the child’s rights, dignity and confidentiality at all times.
18. Continually reviews and develops own and others clinical skills to ensure expected standards and service delivery are being met.
19. Acts as the child’s advocate in the absence of the parent or legal guardian.
20. Ensures that the child’s well-being and needs are being met in all departments.
