Job Description
Purpose of Role
The Engineer will be responsible forthe preparation, build and installation of engineering systems in Oyster Yachtsin line with the current drawings, specifications, and guidelines.
Key Job Responsibilities
Building andinstalling engineering systems on our luxury yachts in build.
Supporting,and working collaboratively with, other trades during yacht build.
Requirements
Knowledge:
* Thoroughknowledge of mechanical engineering systems including, but not limited to,hydraulics, plumbing (domestic, marine, grey, black, fresh water), airconditioning, gas installations, engine/gearbox, and final drive installations.
* Thorough understandingof mechanical engineering ‘best practise’ techniques or methodologies.
* Broad understandingof the requirements for marine engineering installations within yacht orrecreational craft.
* Knowledge ofconstruction techniques used in GRP boats.
* Goodunderstanding of current marine engineering technologies.
* Good awareness ofH + S requirements, guidelines, and best practice.
Skills:
* Ability to buildand install engineering systems in recreational craft.
* Ability to workon own initiative and work collaboratively with other trades.
* Ability to safelyuse ladders, work on uneven levels and in confined spaces.
* Able to read andinterpret Engineering drawings and written specifications.
* Able to safelyuse hand, power, and bench mounted tools, including polishers and grinders.
* Experienceof metal fabrication including TIG welding.
Experience:
* Mechanicalengineering installations within the yacht or recreational craft buildingindustry.
* Beenin a similar role within the previous 2 years.
* Provenexperience in fault finding and problem-solving.
Qualifications
* City & Guilds qualifications (as a minimum) that supports the candidatesKnowledge, Skills, and Experience
