Role Summary
Lead and grow Delta‑Mobrey’s UK Engineering department, owning engineering deliverables for non‑standard orders and ensuring customised product redesigns meet customer, regulatory and business requirements. You will balance resource planning, team development and performance measurement to deliver high‑quality engineered solutions across small to medium batch productions.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage all engineering deliverables for non‑standard and personalised orders (approx. 25% of business), from small customisations to full redesigns.
* Define priorities, allocate resources and ensure team capacity matches workload.
* Recruit, develop and mentor the UK engineering team; create a skills development plan.
* Drive engineering processes, configuration control and documentation to meet qualification and certification requirements.
* Implement and improve performance metrics focused on on‑time delivery, quality and customer satisfaction.
* Liaise with operations, quality, supply chain and customers to resolve technical issues and support product introductions.
* Ensure compliance with relevant standards for product qualification, certification and functional safety where applicable.
Required Qualifications and Experience
* Degree in Electronic Engineering.
* Proven track record delivering engineering projects that mix mechanical and electrical/electronic technologies (analogue and preferably digital).
* Experience working on small to medium batch production for Industrial, Aerospace, Medical or Defence sectors.
* Demonstrable experience with product qualification and certification.
* British citizenship.
Desirable (Should Have)
* Management experience leading engineering teams.
* Master’s degree in engineering.
* Proficiency with CAD tools and engineering data management.
* Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and configuration control.
* Knowledge of metrology concepts.
* Understanding of ISO 9001 or equivalent quality management standards.
Additional Advantageous Skills (Could Have)
* Experience with industrial instrumentation and sensors.
* Knowledge of SIL requirements and functional safety practices.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will typically have 15–20 years’ relevant industry experience, strong leadership skills, and a pragmatic, customer‑focused approach to engineering design, certification and delivery.
