Responsibilities:
1. Work with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure solutions are User-centred, meeting the needs of both users and the business.
2. Collaborate with Service Designers, Architecture, Business Improvement, Product, Development, and Business leaders to define the overall Experience strategy for products and services.
3. Implement User Research functions, including testing and analysis, to inform design decisions.
4. Provide direction and sign-off on wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs for web and mobile applications.
5. Communicate design decisions and rationale effectively to cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
6. Ensure designs are accessible and inclusive for all users.
7. Stay updated with the latest design trends, tools, and technologies.
8. Create and maintain a set of UX principles to be applied across SJP’s digital estate, ensuring consistency in methods, tools, and approaches.
9. Lead the creation and implementation of user personas.
10. Test all new UX initiatives appropriately with users.
11. Provide feedback and mentorship to UX Designers and Researchers, supporting their development in user-centered design practices.
12. Work with Agile teams to ensure solutions are delivered as designed.
Who we’re looking for:
An experienced UCD professional recognized as a go-to person for User Experience within SJP, sharing expertise, striving for excellence, and championing principles throughout the organization.
* Extensive experience in implementing and leading User-Centered Design, with a passion for creating engaging and intuitive user experiences.
* Experience with digital products (web/app), B2B or D2C, for software or standalone products.
* Knowledge of accessibility design techniques and practices.
* Proficiency in design tools such as Axure, Sketch, Figma, InVision, etc.
* Strong coaching and mentoring skills for junior team members.
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in design, HCI, or related field, or equivalent experience.
* Experience in conducting user research, testing, and applying insights to inform design decisions.
