Overview
Our Supply Chain and Manufacturing team are problem-solvers, sourcing, producing and delivering our much-loved brands to delight customers around the globe. Over half of Diageo's 27,000+ people work in Supply Chain and Manufacturing. This role is site based at Runcorn, an 18-acre, 24/7 operation with 4 rotational crews. It has 2 Bottling, 2 Canning and 1 Kegging production lines, 90+ SKUs with 16 beer/liquid types, producing on average 23 million cases per annum. The site produces for Ireland, the UK and export markets; significant investment is underway at both locations.
Role scope: working across canning and bottling areas, you will provide maintenance and continuous improvement skills to deliver and improve safety, quality, delivery, productivity, cost and asset care. You will ensure all assigned Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules are carried out at the defined frequency and completed to the required standard to minimise downtime. You will also support installation, commissioning and testing within the area as needed. You will work closely with and coach operators, engineers and team leaders to perform autonomous maintenance tasks, machine set-ups, optimisation and support growth in equipment capability as required.
Responsibilities
* Follow Diageo health and safety, environmental and food safety standards, and work to all applicable legislative procedures.
* Maintain a safe and organised workplace environment through alignment to the Safety and 5S MMS practices.
* Provide crafts resource (electrical and mechanical) to the Operations Team.
* Make full use of SAP — SAP reporting & recording completion.
* Raise 5 why's as defined by agreed trigger points. Work with Operators and site leaders to play a proactive role in situational problem solving on shift.
* Fix problems and find solutions.
* Participate in line improvement projects.
* Anticipate issues and be proactive in approach. Health and safety compliance is key and you will monitor this alongside KPIs and targets.
Qualifications and Experience
For this role you will be a time-served Electrical or Mechanical Engineer or have acquired a minimum of HNC in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering and SVQ Level 2 & 3 alongside relevant work experience. You will have demonstrable knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and environmental risk. It would be advantageous if you have knowledge of working in the manufacturing industry; however, this is not essential. You should be able to work well within a team, make effective conclusions and thrive when solving problems. You should be able to push forward your own ideas for improvements and appraise new opportunities, with the aim of contributing to manufacturing excellence and demonstrating excellent communication skills.

Full-time - Permanent. Salary: £57,657.89 including shift allowance, share plans, competitive pension, annual bonus, and other benefits.
