Job Title: Senior Clean Water Hydraulic Modeller – Technical Leadership
Type: Permanent, 4 days per week in the office
About the Role:
This is not a standard Senior Modeller position.
Our client is offering a rare opportunity to step into genuine technical leadership, responsibilities that would typically sit at Principal level or above.
You will take ownership of the clean water hydraulic modelling function, set technical standards, oversee junior modellers and directly influence how modelling supports network strategy, resilience and investment decisions.
This is a visible, high-impact role with real authority and the opportunity to shape and grow a function from a technical perspective.
Due to the leadership and mentoring responsibilities, the role requires four days per week in the Havant office.
About the Client:
Our client is a well-established UK water company focused on long-term water resilience, operational performance and innovation. Significant investment is being made into Asset Intelligence and modelling capability, creating space for a senior professional to define and elevate the technical direction of the team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and develop the clean water hydraulic modelling function
* Set and maintain technical standards aligned with national guidance and best practice
* Oversee model build, calibration, live modelling and ongoing maintenance
* Act as subject matter expert for potable hydraulic systems
* Mentor and develop junior modellers (office-based leadership)
* Manage modelling programmes and external consultants
* Drive innovation and expand modelling capability in line with emerging technology
* Strengthen network intelligence and insight across the business
What Our Client is Looking For:
* Clean water model build and calibration expertise
* Experience analysing SCADA/telemetry data (flows, pressure, levels)
* Experience updating models from CAD/GIS
* Ability to provide technical leadership and oversee others
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* Knowledge of UK water regulations
* Familiarity with British Standards and UK water modelling specifications
What Our Client Offers:
* 27 days annual leave + bank holidays
* Pension contribution up to 15%
* Performance-related bonus (up to 6%)
* Enhanced maternity, paternity and adoption leave
* Life assurance (4x salary)
* Electric vehicle scheme
* Health cash plan
* Virtual GP and wellbeing support
This role requires 4 days per week in the Havant office due to the technical leadership and mentoring responsibilities.
Candidates must either already live within commuting distance or be willing to relocate to the South Coast.
Applicants must have the right to live and work in the UK.
Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Opportunity for Growth:
This is a rare opportunity to take on technical leadership at Senior grade — shaping standards, building capability and growing a modelling team without needing to wait for a Principal title.
For ambitious clean water modellers ready to step into a leadership role, this is a genuinely career-defining move.
