LED/AV Engineer Permanent role London based - On-site position We're working with one of themost technically complex permanent LED environments in the UK.
Owing to a major increae in project activity, they're looking to appoint an experienced LED/AV Engineer.
As an LED/AV Engineer, youll take ownership of the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and fault resolution of a large-scale LED and AV estate that runs live, in public, every day. The site supports live events, brand activations, rehearsals, and continuous content playback, so systems knowledge and calm fault-finding matter.
This role suits an LED/AV Engineer who wants responsibility for a fixed venue, works comfortably with large-format LED systems, and is trusted to make technical decisions on site.
What youll be doing LED & AV operations Operating, monitoring, and maintaining large-format LED screen systems across a permanent venue
Diagnosing and resolving LED faults during live operation
Carrying out planned maintenance on LED, audio, lighting, automation, and control systems
Acting as the duty LED/AV Engineer during live events and high-footfall periods
Live events & activationsTechnical support for live events, rehearsals, installs, and de-rigs
Pre-event testing, show support, and post-event checks
Working closely with event managers, operations teams, and visiting production crews
Managing priorities during busy schedules, including night and weekend work
Production & site documentation Reviewing technical submissions from clients and suppliers
Checking RAMS, method statements, technical drawings, and floor plans
Writing and updating SOPs, risk assessments, and incident reports
Sharing fixes, workarounds, and lessons learned with the wider LED/AV Engineer team
Health & safety Working at height using approved access equipment
Following site safety procedures during live operation and maintenance
Taking responsibility for personal safety and the safety of others on site
Essential experience & technical skills You must have hands-on experience in most of the following to be considered for this LED/AV Engineer role:
Operating and maintaining large-format LED screen systems in live or public-facing environments
Practical fault-finding on LED walls, including power, data, receiving cards, processors, and signal paths
Experience with LED control and processing platforms such as Brompton, Novastar, or equivalent
Solid understanding of video signal formats and distribution, including HDMI, SDI, fibre, and converters
Ability to diagnose faults across the full AV chain, from content playback through to screen output
Experience supporting live events or continuous-operation venues where downtime is not acceptable
Working knowledge of audio systems used in live environments, including basic PA setup and fault diagnosis
Understanding of lighting or show control protocols such as DMX and timecode
Familiarity with networked AV systems, including basic IP concepts and Dante awareness
Ability to read and work from technical drawings, signal flow diagrams, and method statements
Proven experience working safely at height in operational environments
Clear understanding of on-site health and safety responsibilities, including RAMS and safe systems of work
This role is designed for an LED/AV Engineer who has already worked in complex live environments and is comfortable taking responsibility for systems in front of clients and the public.
Useful, but not essentialExperience with large outdoor LED systems
MEWP or IPAF licence (3A / 3B)
LED tile or module repair experience
Experience with automation systems
AutoCAD or similar for reviewing technical drawings
