Data Steward Manager
Location: Liverpool (hybrid – minimum three days in office)
Contract type: 6-months
The opportunity
We are working with a leading international law firm to recruit a Data Steward Manager for their Liverpool office on a six-month contract basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced data professional with a strong background in data quality and team leadership. The successful candidate will oversee a team of Data Stewards, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of client and matter data that underpins key areas of the firm, including Risk, Finance, and Business Development.

Key responsibilities
* Supervising a team of Data Stewards and ensuring service levels are met
* Managing the scheduling, prioritisation, and distribution of tasks
* Maintaining and cleansing client and matter data in line with regulatory standards
* Conducting audits to identify incomplete or inconsistent data and rectifying issues
* Verifying that new data entries meet minimum quality standards
* Liaising with stakeholders to resolve data-related concerns
* Reviewing internal processes and driving improvements where needed
* Handling change requests where no risk review is required
* Performing regular data housekeeping across key systems
* Supporting the Head of Risk with team training, development, and performance reviews
* Helping to establish and promote best practice across the team
Candidate profile
Essential skills and experience:
* Previous experience in a Data Steward or similar data management role
* Strong IT and administrative skills
* Excellent attention to detail and the ability to analyse and summarise data
* Clear and confident written and verbal communication
* Ability to manage workload effectively and delegate as appropriate
* Experience working with a range of stakeholders, including senior management
Desirable:
* Prior experience supervising or training team members
* Experience within a legal or professional services environment
* Familiarity with compliance and practice management systems
