Join Cadent Gas Limited as an Asset Investment Senior Engineer. Help shape a resilient and secure future for asset management within the UK gas distribution network, working to safeguard critical infrastructure and influence investment planning in line with regulatory obligations.
In this role, you will develop long-term investment plans, collaborate with Ofgem and other stakeholders, and guide a team of data specialists to deliver robust analysis that supports resilience, risk management, and energy security.
Responsibilities
* Shape long-term investment plans for asset resilience, aiming to withstand and recover from extreme weather, cyber security threats, and other risks.
* Develop and apply risk modelling, climate change, and resilience planning to inform investment decisions.
* Collaborate with Ofgem and industry stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance and delivery of reliable energy supply.
* Lead and mentor a team of data specialists to deliver robust analysis and insights for decision-making.
* Contribute to the development of industry best practices and inform future energy policy through active participation and leadership.
What You Will Bring
* Qualifications: Degree in a relevant subject or equivalent experience. Incorporated Engineer or recognised Asset Management certification desirable. Chartered status preferred.
* Experience: Proven track record in asset management and investment planning for complex engineering assets. Experience of asset risk modelling and climate impact on network infrastructure desirable.
* Skills: Strategic thinker, strong communicator, and effective collaborator with excellent influencing skills.
* Technical Expertise: Ability to analyse and interpret complex data (e.g., SAP, GIS) to inform investment decisions.
* Business Acumen: Understanding of UK energy systems, RIIO regulatory framework, and process safety principles.
