This role will be based at our Dorket Head site in Arnold, Nottingham NG5 8PZ. It involves leading a multi‑disciplined team to improve Reliability & OEE performance, working on a 4 on 4 off shift rotating days and nights covering a 7‑day production week, with hours 6 o’clock to 6 o’clock inclusive of a paid meal break.
Specific responsibilities
* Develop and implement a computerised Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) system.
* Implement and adhere to all company and site control procedures to ensure compliance with statutory health & safety, environmental and quality requirements.
* Develop and implement repair activities within production requirements to improve plant availability.
* Liaise with and organise external contractors, ensuring they meet safety guidelines and Ibstock’s requirements.
* Ensure maintenance tasks are carried out efficiently and effectively within a timely manner.
* Provide effective inter‑departmental liaison to optimise efficiency and achieve defined objectives.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
* Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship to level 3 (City & Guilds, NVQ, etc.).
* Experience running a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) system.
* Proficient computer literacy, including Excel, Word and Outlook.
* High degree of self‑motivation.
* Excellent communication skills across departments.
* Leadership and people‑management skills, capable of building, motivating and developing a team.
* Demonstrable ability to implement structured problem‑solving techniques, provide solutions and delegate responsibility.
