Waters Corporation is seeking a dynamic Senior Scientist to pioneer breakthroughs within the Xevo MRT program —our revolutionary multi-reflecting time-of-flight mass spectrometry platform. In this hands-on role, you'll work shoulder-to-shoulder with world-class experts, crafting the future of analytical science using cutting-edge MS technology, working in partnership with both demo labs and sales teams globally to elevate this breakthrough technology and help deliver outstanding commercial success. Core Responsibilities & Impact Scientific Accountability & Expertise Takes full ownership of experimental outcomes, laboratory safety, and instrumentation integrity Applies advanced scientific knowledge with autonomy, while engaging collaboratively with senior experts Demonstrates a strong understanding of market dynamics and competitive landscapes Critical Thinking & Problem Solving Proactively diagnoses and resolves complex scientific and operational challenges using wise discernment Independently interprets data to guide innovation and decision-making Continuously develops expertise in emerging techniques and technologies Cross-Functional Collaboration & Influence Leads internal and external collaborations, ensuring scientific and strategic alignment across teams Engages regularly with marketing, product management, and commercial groups to integrate scientific insights Contributes to crafting departmental standard processes and methodologies Innovation & Initiative Designs and implements experimental strategies with a future-focused approach Initiates and contributes to intellectual property generation through novel scientific approaches Finds opportunities to optimize workflows and implement impactful solutions Customer & Market Engagement Provides expert-level support to strategic customers and early adopters, ensuring a seamless experience with new technologies Builds scientific credibility or equivalent experience in the field through technical engagement and thought leadership Serves as a feedback conduit between customer needs and product evolution Results-Driven Execution Translates strategic objectives into actionable scientific plans Handles multiple concurrent projects with a focus on timely delivery and excellence Generates data and insights for marketing collateral, product launches, and peer-reviewed publications Education & Expertise Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific field or equivalent experience required; advanced degree (Ph.D., MSc) strongly preferred Demonstrated scientific competence and hands-on experience that fuels innovation in analytical technologies Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence both technical and commercial audiences Travel Requirements Willingness to travel up to 20% to support early adopters, attend industry events, and foster customer relationships.
