Overview
A leading main contractor is delivering a major data centre development in Newport and is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the civils package. This is a high‑profile, fast‑paced project requiring strong leadership, excellent coordination skills, and proven experience managing complex infrastructure works.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the successful delivery of the civils and infrastructure package from mobilisation through to handover.
* Manage daily site operations, ensuring the programme, quality, and safety standards are consistently achieved.
* Coordinate closely with design teams, commercial teams, and subcontractors to drive progress.
* Oversee procurement input, subcontractor management, and progress reporting.
* Review technical documentation, method statements, sequencing, and temporary works.
* Identify risks, implement mitigation plans, and ensure robust project controls.
* Represent the project professionally with stakeholders, maintaining strong communication at all levels.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Project Manager with a main contractor
* Strong background in civils / infrastructure delivery, ideally within data centres, pharma, or other high-spec, mission‑critical environments.
* Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams.
* Strong understanding of groundworks, drainage, utilities, concrete structures, and associated civils works.
* Ability to manage demanding programmes and deliver within tight deadlines.
