Job purpose
Reporting to the Global Medical Director (Ex US), the Junior Medical advisor (Ex US), will coordinate Medical Affairs (MA), Medical Information (MI), and some administrative activities on behalf of the BED medical team. This includes but is not limited to MA activities (e.g., medical symposia, advisory boards), medical information, document management (eg consultancy agreements), and ABPI/EFPIA compliance.
Main Responsibilities, Activities, Duties and Tasks
* Coordination and support management of Medical Affairs activities
* Assist with EU and the UK Medical Information duties and processes, including the capturing and follow-up of adverse event reports and medical information enquiries
* Coordination and contribution to the management of IITs
* Conducting and coordinating Transfer of value submissions
* Provide training of the disease area and products to internal and external stakeholders, create training material and keep repositories up to date
* Co-ordinate review and approval processes according to ABPI and EFPIA codes for medical materials and activities
* Responsible for administrative activities regarding working with HCOs and HCPs including tiering, FMV and contracting
* Carrying out administrative activities where necessary to ensure the effective operation of the MA, MI and PV departments
* Management of medical department meetings, minute taking and write-up of reports
* Support with updating and maintaining applicable SOPs
* Raising purchase orders, goods receipting and supporting the management of the department budget
* Document storage and management for the medical department.
* Other duties as determined by business needs.
Education
Graduate with a scientific or medical background
Professional Experience, Knowledge & Technical Skills
* Relevant experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry
* Excellent organisational skills with good attention to detail
* Willing to develop knowledge of the Investigator-Initiated Trials (IIT), pharma codes, MI and pharmacovigilance requirements relevant to the projects with which they are involved
* Ability to work on assigned projects independently, under the guidance of senior medical team members, and assist the medical team in more extensive and complex projects
* Able to travel within Europe and to the US/internationally, if required.
* Ability to work in a hybrid manner with office attendance 2 days per week
* Excellent communication skills - written and verbal
* Demonstrates good interpersonal skills required to build relationships with the BED team to obtain information required by the medical team within agreed timeframes, and external Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), agencies and professional bodies
