Powering the Future of Clean Energy

Agratas is building one of the world’s most advanced EV battery businesses. Designed from the ground up to accelerate the transition to sustainable mobility, our teams are pioneering next‑generation cell technologies. We are now seeking a Senior Programme Manager to lead the delivery of our NMC‑based product portfolio from concept through industrialisation.

Senior Programme Manager – NMC Products

Reporting to: Head of PMO
Location: Oxford

Opportunity

As a Senior Programme Manager for NMC Products, you will own the end‑to‑end delivery of our NMC cell programmes in the Technology team. Your goal is to ensure technical excellence, cross‑functional alignment, and on‑time execution across R&D, engineering, operations, supply chain, and commercial teams. You will be the strategic integrator who brings together cell design, materials development, validation, manufacturing readiness, and customer requirements into a coherent, executable plan. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in complex technical environments and enjoys leading multidisciplinary teams toward ambitious product milestones.

Key Responsibility Areas

Programme Leadership & Delivery

Lead the full lifecycle delivery of NMC cell programmes from concept through development, validation, and industrialisation. Build and manage integrated programme plans covering scope, schedule, cost, risk, and resource allocation. Drive milestone readiness, ensuring technical and operational deliverables are met on time and to specification. Act as the single point of accountability for programme performance and cross‑functional alignment.

Technical Integration & Decision‑Making

Partner closely with R&D, Cell Design, Validation, Materials, Electrochemistry, Process Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to ensure technical coherence. Translate customer and system‑level requirements into actionable programme deliverables. Facilitate technical trade‑off discussions and support data‑driven decision‑making.

Stakeholder Management

Serve as the primary interface between R&D, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and Commercial teams. Communicate programme status, risks, and mitigation plans to senior leadership. Manage customer interactions for NMC product programmes, ensuring clarity of requirements and expectations.

Risk, Quality & Governance

Lead risk identification, mitigation planning, and issue resolution across the programme. Ensure compliance with internal governance processes, including design reviews, technical gates, and change control. Support DFMEA, PFMEA, and validation planning activities to ensure robust product quality.

Industrialisation & Scale‑Up

Work with the COO’s office to ensure NMC products are ready for scale from lab to pilot and mass production. Oversee readiness of equipment, materials, processes, and supply chain for scale‑up. Support cost modelling, yield targets, and manufacturability improvements.

Essential

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Proven experience delivering complex technical programmes in batteries, energy storage, automotive, or advanced materials. Strong understanding of NMC chemistries, cell design principles, and lithium‑ion performance drivers. Demonstrated success leading cross‑functional teams in fast‑paced R&D or industrialisation environments. Expertise in programme planning, risk management, and structured problem‑solving. Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Desirable Experience

Experience with APQP, PPAP, or similar product development frameworks. Background in cell manufacturing, electrode processing, or materials development. Familiarity with validation planning, safety testing, and reliability engineering. Customer‑facing experience in automotive or energy storage sectors.

Role Specific Qualifications / Certifications

A degree in a science or engineering discipline and experience delivering in a multi‑disciplinary engineering environment. Professional project management background with a proven track record of delivery over at least 5 years in project leadership roles. A professional project management certification is desirable.

Leadership Skills

Clear purposeful communicator to guide a cross‑functional matrix team and manage a broad range of stakeholders across the organisation. Exhibit emotional intelligence in all interactions to bring out the best in those around you. Lead by example, set standards to meet commitments, motivate, guide, and hold project delivery stakeholders accountable. Coach, guide, and develop the growing PMO team.

Why Join Agratas?

Shape the future of sustainable mobility through next‑generation NMC technology. Work alongside world‑class scientists and engineers in a cutting‑edge R&D environment. Be part of a fast‑growing organisation backed by Tata Group’s global strength. Lead high‑impact programmes that directly influence global electrification.
