This role will be based in London, UK, and you are required to have the necessary right to work details prior to application.
The position is for a Senior Underwriter within the CPRI UK & Europe operation. The role involves supporting the growth and profitability of the CPRI portfolio, underwriting business in line with CPRI appetites, and developing relationships with London & International Brokers and clients.
Job Responsibilities & Competence
1. Underwrite new and renewal accounts to meet underwriting results, analyzing trends and implementing improvement plans.
2. Negotiate account participation, pricing, and terms with brokers.
3. Ensure underwriting aligns with CPRI Global frameworks and guidelines.
4. Support development and execution of global underwriting and marketing strategies.
5. Collaborate with leadership to drive development opportunities and maintain a balanced portfolio.
6. Identify and develop new products and expand into new geographic territories.
7. Support acquisition and retention of business through market and client meetings.
8. Develop and maintain relationships with key brokers & insureds, including travel as needed.
9. Coach and develop underwriting team members to enhance their skills.
Qualifications & Capabilities
1. Reasonable education standard.
2. Willingness to develop knowledge of CPRI and related issues.
3. Ability to prioritize, organize workload, and meet deadlines.
4. Strong relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
Experience
1. Relevant underwriting experience in the international CPRI marketplace or related fields.
2. Understanding of trade finance structures and political risk insurance.
3. Knowledge of emerging and frontier market issues.
4. Strong process management and organizational skills.
5. Team-oriented with the ability to build cross-organizational relationships.
6. Technical underwriting expertise, including knowledge of wording, regulation, and financial analysis.
