We are working with a major UK main contractor and with a turnover exceeding £700m and a strong national presence. Over the past 25 years, the business has built long-standing partnering relationships, resulting in a substantial order book and a strong pipeline of upcoming projects across the UK.
This opportunity sits within a business unit operating across London and the South, delivering a diverse portfolio of refurbishment, remediation, retrofit and building safety projects across both public and private sectors, including local authorities and housing associations.
Project types include residential, student accommodation and public sector regeneration schemes. The business is led by a highly experienced senior management team with a proven track record of successful delivery.
The Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead the delivery of projects under the Building Safety Fund, with a focus on cladding remediation, fire safety works, and associated internal and external building safety upgrades.
This is a senior operational role with both strategic and hands-on responsibility within a growing and highly regulated area of the business. You will oversee a portfolio of up to 10 live projects valuing usually between £2m - £10m, manage a team of 3x Contracts Managers, and play a key role in securing future refurbishment, building safety and remediation work.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide overall operational leadership across multiple building safety and remediation projects
* Manage, mentor, and support Contracts Managers and senior site teams
* Ensure projects are delivered safely, compliantly, on programme, and within budget
* Oversee all fire safety, cladding, and building safety compliance requirements
* Act as a senior point of contact for clients, consultants, and regulatory bodies
* Lead and support the tendering and securing of new Building Safety Fund projects
* Drive performance, quality, and continuous improvement across the portfolio
* Manage risk, programme strategy, and resource planning
* Ensure full compliance with current and evolving building safety legislation and guidance
