Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Supervising Social Worker within the Fostering Team to work full time for 5 Fostering, based in Loughborough, Leicestershire.
The salary for this permanent Supervising Social Worker job is up to £44,000 per annum.
Responsibilities
* Manage workload efficiently and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines. Keep a comprehensive, up-to-date calendar with sufficient details so that your availability is clear to colleagues, & ensuring line managers can track progress.
* Embrace corporate decisions and consult with the Line Manager for approval on decisions requiring additional oversight.
* Take responsibility for professional development. Participate in regular supervision, performance appraisals, and attend relevant training sessions to further your professional growth. Seek advice and support when unsure about any aspect of your role.
* Stay informed on legislation and policies. Keep up to date with new government policies, legislation, and best practices related to fostering and child welfare.
* Support and guide foster carers, ensuring they are provided with copies of the foster carer manual and the children’s guide. Maintain accurate records and logs, ensuring all data is updated in a timely manner.
* Identify training needs of Foster Carers. Collaborate with the agency to identify training needs and ensure relevant training is provided.
* Ensure records are accurate and up to date. Regularly update all records on CHARMS, ensuring they are signed off as required. Ensure all reports for Panels, internal reviews, and statutory reviews are submitted within deadlines.
* Be proactive in child protection and health & safety. Ensure a proactive approach to safeguarding children and maintaining a safe working environment.
* Manage risks and crises effectively. Address risks and cries as they arise, ensuring risk assessments and safer caring agreements reflects the management plans in place.
* Attend all professional meetings and ensure that records are kept up to date. Report promptly to the line manager regarding any concerns and notify them about schedules 6’s & 7s, as these are notifiable to OFSTED.
* Ensure leave and sick leave are managed appropriately. Request and obtain approval for annual leave in accordance with agency policy and notify the appropriate person immediately if sick leave is required.
* Ensure that expenses and mileage are signed off by the line manager before being submitted to finance.
* Undertake additional duties as required. Take on any other tasks or responsibilities as directed by the line manager.
* Make efforts to be available and participate in the out-of-hours system if required by the agency.
Requirements
* Degree or equivalent in Social Work.
* Current Social Work England Registration.
* At least 4 years post qualifying social work experience with children & families.
