We are seeking an experienced Shift Supervisor to join our team at Glasgow Airport, based in the Bond. The ideal candidate will have a background in manufacturing or food services and be confident in leading teams to success.
Purpose of the role:
To actively participate as a team member, ensuring all work is completed according to the Daily Work Schedule, all received information is communicated promptly, and compliance standards are met. The role involves maintaining an effective, productive team focused on results and developing strong customer relationships.
Internal contacts:
Bond Function Manager, other Shift Leaders, Bond and Flight employees, other units, Central Services Team at Manchester, support functions, Operations/General Manager.
Key responsibilities:
1. Ensure work is completed as per the daily schedule and costs are within targets.
2. Maintain the work schedule, taking corrective actions as needed and highlighting ongoing issues to the relevant manager.
3. Manage the shift roster effectively, considering costs.
4. Ensure team members perform duties according to the schedule.
5. Meet standards for customer service, both internal and external.
6. Address customer issues promptly and escalate unresolved matters.
7. Follow legislation, company policies, and customer requirements, ensuring procedures are adhered to.
8. Perform daily compliance checks and communicate issues.
9. Conduct daily stock counts and investigate variances.
10. Oversee housekeeping duties.
11. Maintain safe working practices, including PPE use, manual handling, and fire safety procedures.
12. Follow security procedures.
13. Ensure team adherence to processes and procedures.
14. Coordinate effective handovers with colleagues.
15. Identify training needs and communicate them to management.
16. Address non-conformance issues promptly and escalate as needed.
17. Conduct daily and weekly team briefings.
Qualifications and skills:
* People management skills, including handling performance issues, grievances, holidays, and absences.
* Basic computer skills: Outlook, Word, Excel.
* Ability to plan, organize, and delegate tasks.
* High attention to detail and accuracy.
* Excellent communication skills at all levels.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to operations.
* Understanding of Operational Management Systems.
* Methodical and logical approach to work.
