Site Services Engineer – BOAS

Overview
As a Site Services Engineer, you will work shifts reporting to the Site Services Manager. Your role is to proactively manage Asset Care, ensuring equipment performance is maximised and contributing to the implementation of Autonomous Maintenance across the site. You will operate within Health, Safety & Environmental legislation and site policies, and work closely with Shift Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality and Logistics teams to support the delivery of the Group Asset Care Strategy.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the safe and efficient response to all breakdowns across the shift, using SAP PM and other systems to plan and control maintenance activities.
* Execute planned Asset Care activities and support the development of the site’s Asset Care strategy, targeting 80% of engineering work planned in advance.
* Champion continuous improvement initiatives, applying 5S, GMP, RCA and other tools to enhance equipment reliability and availability.
* Develop and sign off on Autonomous Maintenance routines, training manufacturing personnel and driving a culture of ownership over equipment and processes.
* Manage People by developing your own skills, challenging work practices and developing a culture of ownership within the team.
* Support site services and energy management, ensuring water, air, gas, electricity and steam KPI framework is met and energy consumption is reduced.
* Provide technical leadership, supporting the Engineering shift leader and applying defined best practice in all engineering and maintenance matters.
* Communicate effectively with shift peers and functional engineering departments to share best practice and realize Asset Care objectives.

* Shift Managers, Team Leaders, Manufacturing Team, Quality Team, Logistics Team and Site Services Team
* Training & development coordinators (CI) when applicable
Qualifications & Experience
* Recognised BOAS qualification
* HNC or equivalent in Electrical or multi‑skilled engineering discipline with hands‑on experience and a demonstrable track record of success.
* Proficiency in PLC fault finding and programming – Siemens preferable. Knowledge of IEE/IET 17th Edition is an advantage.
* Experience achieving results and managing change in a complex manufacturing environment.
* Familiarity with World Class Manufacturing principles and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
* Competence in SAP, Microsoft Word and Excel.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Key experience operating utilities plants – effluent treatment, steam raising plant, compressors and fridge plant.

Employment Details
Permanent, full‑time, onsite shift work. You will be based in Long Sutton and support the site’s engineering and services teams on a rotating shift schedule.
