Role Overview:
As a Business Development Engineer, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, managing existing client relationships, and promoting the company’s lifting equipment and rigging inspection services. The role requires extensive travel, as you will be covering regions across the UK, ensuring the company’s services are known and trusted nationwide. Key Responsibilities
* Business Development & Sales:
* Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities across the UK.
* Build and maintain robust relationships with existing and potential clients within the industrial, construction, and engineering sectors.
* Understand client needs and tailor service solutions, ensuring maximum customer satisfaction and loyalty.
* Technical Expertise & Consultancy:
* Leverage your technical background to offer expert advice on the inspection of lifting equipment and rigging gear.
* Collaborate closely with the inspection teams to gain a deep understanding of service offerings and technical processes.
* Conduct product demonstrations and technical presentations to prospective clients.
* Market Analysis & Strategy:
* Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to strategically position the company in the marketplace.
* Develop and implement effective sales strategies and marketing initiatives.
* Monitor industry developments and proactively identify emerging opportunities.
* Administrative & Reporting Duties:
* Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and market intelligence.
* Prepare regular reports on business development performance and strategize improvements.
* Liaise with internal teams to ensure seamless project delivery and customer support.
Candidate Requirements
* Essential Qualifications & Experience:
* Proven experience in business development or sales within the engineering, industrial, or inspection sectors.
* Strong technical background, preferably with exposure to lifting equipment, rigging gear, or similar industries.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
* Clearance & Residency:
* Must be a UK resident and hold a British passport due to necessary security and clearance checks.
* Personal Attributes:
* Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
* Willingness to travel extensively and work away from home as required.
* Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret market trends and client needs.
