Job Summary

Main duties of the role include:
* Provide clinical psychology input to children and young people and their families via enhanced assessment and therapy within the LDS.
* Offer advice and consultation to families, carers, colleagues and other professionals.
* Develop and implement formal consultancy systems within the nominated team(s).
* Work autonomously within professional guidelines, ensuring systematic governance of practice.
* Utilise research, audit, policy and service development skills, implementing policy changes in agreement with managers.

Person Specification
Essential
* Doctoral level training in clinical psychology or equivalent, accredited by BPS.
* HCPC registered as a Practitioner Psychologist (Clinical).
* Evidence of CPD: minimum 40 hours per year.
* Experience working with individuals with learning disabilities, both severe/multiple and profound.
* Experience of full clinical responsibility within multidisciplinary care plans.
* Post‑doctorate experience with children and families/carers.
Knowledge
* Doctoral level expertise in research methodology, design, and multivariate data analysis.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation and its implications for mental health.
Practice and Experience
* Ability to work autonomously and in teams, providing specialist assessment and therapy.
* Develop and lead consultancy interventions within an LDS setting.
* Implement and audit service improvements and policies.
Additional Requirements
